To wszystko hałas. (...)

Hey you, who came to Izmir on your dark ships. Know that your love is mortal but my love is immortal. Your love is water, my love is fire. You are a pitiful lover when I am mad for my country. Don’t lose yourself in empty dreams sir. Our love is like a mother’s love to her child. Maybe like the live ember that falls to the ground it so longs for. Our love is freedom. Our love is to die in battle. Maybe for an instant, even at the cost of the country, we might have been careless. However it doesn’t last long. Without mercy you remind us who you are, what’s you real goal. Halit İkbal’s love is the land for the sake of which Eşref paşa fell as a martyr and as long as he lives he won’t surrender it to you. Instead of fancy love lines of poetry, you deserve to be thrown into the sea.
